Q. How long does it take to produce a Badge Embedment?

A. Due to the exacting detail, complex processing and curing times, we would like you to allow 7-10 days from the time we receive your Badge(s). Many times this period is shorter, but in every instance, you will be absolutely pleased with the final product. Overnight Embedment Service is Available most of the time.

Q. What are my Shipping options?
A. Free shipping is included within the continental United States via the United Parcel Service ground on standard badge embedments only.  Other options include post office, or Federal Express, Airborne Express, DHL or even Messenger Service. Extra Shipping cost when other couriers than UPS deliver will be added to cost of Embedments.   Call us for specific details on your shipping arrangements.

Q. Can I order on-line?
A. Since all of our productions are custom made, there will be a need to have some communication directly with you.  We can receive your order information from our on-line order form by filling it out and faxing it to 818-846-0877, but payment options are not available on-line at this time.  They are only taken by a real person.   No personal data will travel over internet.

Q. How do I place an order?
A.
To place an order, simply fill out our order form, e-mail it to us, or print it out and fax it to us.  Put your badge(s) in an envelope, and send it to us, insured or with a registered delivery service. Please protect the badge with some form of packing material.  Please include a printed copy of your order form for our records.

Q. Do you require a deposit?
A. Yes,  payment in full  is required before a job is shipped.  Credit cards are not charged until a job is completed.  If there is any type of problem we will do our best to warn you prior to casting  the plastic. In most instances a remedy is possible.  On No Guarantee Items , Prepayment and an email acknowledging the potential problem or a signed fax will be required.

Q. What is a Lucite Embedment?
A.
Simply explained, it is an item suspended in a block of hard acrylic transparent material.  You must see & hold one to appreciate the craftsmanship and beauty of a custom Lucite embedment.  No photo or written explanation can do it justice.

Q. How is a Lucite Embedment made?
A. Lucite is a high quality acrylic product. The versatility of Lucite® allows it to be custom designed into a variety of shapes and sizes, incorporating many different types of embedded elements. However, due to chemical reactions during the process, not everything can be embedded.

The process starts with two basic ingredients, an acrylic resin powder and monomer, a crystal clear liquid. The powder and monomer are mixed together in specific proportions. The result is a thick, opaque liquid. The mixture is hand poured into molds and allowed to partially harden. Objects to be embedded are then hand placed into the Lucite® layer.  Another layer is poured over the embedded object and the Lucite® is again allowed to harden.

Heat and pressure are applied to the parts to remove any air bubbles and completely harden the part. Parts are then sanded to size then buffed by hand to a bright crystal-like finish.

Q. What sizes can be made?

A. Amost any size can be cast, however our maximum is 60 inches long, 30 inches wide and 12 inches thick.. We will recommend a  size that  best fits your custom order.

Q. What is the minimum order?
A. There is no minimum order! The great part about our product is that even though this is a totally customized item, you can order just one at no additional cost!

Q. If my original isn't perfect, how will the embedment look?
A. We can only work with what you give us. Try to send the best original material possible.  We may have suggestions that can improve the overall beauty of all work. Most Problems can be corrected.
